Join other sewists from the Greater Victoria area at the 2nd YYJ Sewists Meetup!
This FREE event is a chance to meet and chat with other (primarily garment-focused) sewists in the region. We’ll also be hosting a SWAP – a free exchange of fabric, notions, patterns, and me-mades.
Bring your Swap items pre-labelled with length/fibre content/size. When you get there, lay your goodies on the appropriate tables and browse for treasures to take home with you. There are no rules aside from not leaving things behind – take your un-swapped goodies with you when you leave, please!
There will probably be door prizes, and if our May event was any indication, our local sewing merchants will be generous in sharing delightful prizes for our draw!
There is some parking in the building’s lot, and on nearby streets. The Hall is on the #14 bus route as well. If you prefer to cycle, take the E&N to Helmcken and come up the hill (dubbed “Holy Helmcken” around here) then turn left onto Island Highway (aka the far end of Craigflower).
Attendance is capped at 40 to avoid overwhelming crowds. If you’ve got any kind of transmittable illness on the day, please skip this one – be overly cautious. There will be another one next May, probably.
To be welcome to all, there is no ticket price to attend. A contribution of $5 per person (at your discretion) will help to offset the venue costs. Any leftover funds will be used to purchase extra door prizes. You can etransfer funds to sue[dot]c[dot]low [at] gmail[dot]com (sue.c.low at the gee-mail) or bring cash to the event.
Please note – due to website hosting technical difficulties, you will not receive an email confirmation of your RSVP.
If you need to check whether you’re already signed up or ask anything else, please reach out to me at the above email address or by message on Instagram, @sue_in_victoria.
